Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel
Inspired by the Life & Teachings of Jesus, Our Saviour.
“God alone is my tenderness, God alone is my support, God alone is my every good, my life and my wealth.”- St. Montfort, Canticle 55, 11
The Society of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, which constitutes a religious society in the Catholic Church, was founded by a French saint by name, ST. LOUIS DE MONTFORT (1673-1716). The members of this society are religious men inspired by Jesus Christ, who take the three vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, and promise to live in communities having everything in common and no individual member claiming anything as his own.
The educational service rendered by this society is essentially a service to humanity as it draws its inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ who taught people to love and serve their fellow human beings. The society co-operates with other like-minded agencies to develop healthy, God fearing personalities and leaders of the nation through the process of Human Resources Development. Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel celebrated 100 Years of their dedicated service in the field of education in India in the year 2003.
Former Principal Speaks
The Goal of everybody working in Education is to ensure a bright future for our children.
Over the past decade, I have worked very closely with private schools across the sub-continent and I have witnessed the magic some of the educators have managed to create in their schools. My experience over the past few years working with private schools has opened my eyes to the ground realities of their domain and I must admit that there are several sparks of excellence in private schools. Being an entrepreneur myself, I also realize the wonderful job some of the private schools are doing in the Indian education domain.
From a micro prospective, I get a sense that these four different players – governmental bodies, private schools, NGO’s and private companies are all working parallel to each other, apparently with similar goals and objectives. They are all trying to improve the educational system. If only these different players looked at synergies in an organized manner, the positive outcomes of their interventions would be multi-fold. The goal of everybody working in education is to ensure a bright future for our children. Do not train children to learn by force and harness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be able to discover with better accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.
I sincerely thank all the parents, teachers, neighboring school Principals, students and benefactors for the continuous support and guidance for the last six years. Each of you have made a difference to me during my tenure of service in Loyola Patna. I thank all of you for the support I received in little ways and big. I wish you all success in life.
